Well, another year has passed us by.
Are we older? Indeed!
But what I really want to know is do we hunger for anything?
When I think back to this time last year, I was wrapped up in wrapping things up.
Gifts that is.
Lately, I have been more introspective.
I plan to make many positive changes in the year ahead.
Some which you will read about here on the blog in the future.
With that said, it’s time for a year-end update on what’s currently going on in my world…

Current Mood: Productive
You will soon learn my new Word Of The Year.
No, it’s not productive, but something similar that leads to productivity!
Please check out 2017’s WOTY if you are curious.
There is a whole slew of stuff going on right now.
In my world, and the world around me.
Somethings wonderful and exciting.
Other things confusing and murky.
I choose to focus on self right now.
Surrendering what is not within my control.
That is not to say I won’t keep trying!
It just means I recognize that the desire, or need, to control does not work in my favor.
With refocused efforts toward my own productivity, I feel 2018 will be amazing, no matter what comes my way.
Currently Obsessed With: The Curse Of Oak Island and The Hunt For The Zodiac Killer.
I have always loved a good mystery!
It’s ironic since a lot of my personal life has been a mystery as of late.
These two shows allow me to step out of what’s going on in my life and the world around me.
At the same time, I feel that I am learning something.
Both shows pull in a bit of history and a lot of suspense.
What I really love most about shows like these, is that the people investigating are so passionate about what they are doing!
I truly want to see them succeed.
Currently Struggling With: Patience
Right now I am waiting for an appointment with a dermatologist.
I have one scheduled in January.
Around here, dermatology appointments always scheduled far out.
I was surprised I was able to get one in January!
I found a strange mark on my skin that could be cancerous.
From the looks of it and the brief conversation with my primary care doctor, it could be basal cell carcinoma.
This type of skin cancer is very treatable and rather common so it’s not the worst thing that could happen.
I just want to find out, do what needs to be done, and move past it.
Currently Humbled By: Lessons Learned
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since I made the change over from Blogger to WordPress.
Self-hosting with Siteground and using WordPress has taught me so much.
While I started out my blog as a hobby and simply to empower others, it has shifted.
My number one goal is still to help others, and empower but blogging has also become a career.
One I never would have been able to obtain before the switch!
I honestly had no idea how many technical aspects my blog was missing.
How many things Iw as doing wrong.
I still have a long way to come to get to where I hope to be by this time next year.
The exciting thing is every day I am able to make progress.
Big changes come through the little steps along the way.
I am perfectly fine with taking little steps as long as each day I take some steps toward my goals.
One thing I promise is that I will always stay true to the original mission of Fashion Beyond Forty!
Just today I passed up a very lucrative payment on a
I just didn’t think any of you wanted to read about how to obtain a Russian bride!
It really happened, I’m not kidding.
Currently Excited About: BlogPaws Conference
BlogPaws is a social community I belong to for pet bloggers.
Of all the blogging communities I belong to it is the absolute best.
The members are so supportive and truly care about each other’s success.
The 2018 BlogPaws Conference so just happens to be in my own backyard in Kansas City Missouri.
It takes place April 18th through 20th
I am incredibly excited to go and I won’t have to travel far!
Looking forward meeting fellow bloggers and their furkids.
Also excited to learn all sorts of new ideas.
I should come out of the conference invigorated!
Speaking of fellow bloggers…
I Am Currently Empowered By: Fellow Bloggers
I think in any career it takes some time to find our people.
Whether one works in an office, does manual labor, or whatever, we all have to find our tribe.
I feel blessed to have found mine.
Every day I learn something of value from them.
Some days I feel I help others.
Other days we just chat like regular co-workers do.
There is always give and take between us.
We even had a holiday card exchange.
It is very easy to become secluded in this business!
Working from home has a whole set of challenges.
Add to that my entire work life revolving around being online or on a computer.
Without these engaging, amazing people, I would be lost.
Currently Happy About: Setting Aside Me Time Again
Sometimes life just creeps into our lives.
Yeah, that didn’t make a lot of sense did it?
What I mean is sometimes we wake up and realize we totally lost track of time for ourselves.
I don’t know when it happens, or how.
Maybe somewhere between raising kids, work, being a wife, daughter, fur mama, etc and so on.
I used to find time to read, to explore, to meditate, pray, whatever enriched my soul.
This past year I have to admit I have lost track of me.
I am taking some time back for myself in 2018.
Actually, I have already started.
I will visit my favorite coffee shop more often, perhaps even work from there.
Lately, I have considered getting back into theatre again.
I started reading again and taking a relaxing bubble bath once or twice a week.
Yes, these things do seem rather basic don’t they!
Which makes it even sillier I ever lost track of time for myself to do them!
This all brings me to the next item…
Currently Working On Intentions Toward: A More Refined Work Week
At first, I was going to say a more “regulated” work week but I changed my mind.
With my personality type being over regulated is a bad thing!
I am already always stressed out about if I am getting enough accomplished.
To me, it’s not about how much I work but the quality of the work I do that matters going into 2018.
So I am seeing my sights coming into the new year ahead to have a more refined work structure.
I want to enjoy the process of writing, of connecting, of building more.
With that said, I will put this into action via manifestation and have already started.
Speaking of manifestation…
Currently Manifesting: Spiritual Reconnection
When I took a soft retirement from my work as a life coach I may have got a little off track myself!
Spirituality has always been an important part of my life.
For the record, I do believe there is a difference between religion and spirituality.
However, I took part in religion as a youth into my mid-twenties.
In 2018 I plan to reconnect to my spiritual enlightenment.
I will never directly preach, write about religion, or get high on a pulpit with my readers.
It is not in my beliefs of your freedom of religion to do so!
Truth is, I am not sure where this journey will even take me.
What I do know is that I got so busy with work, that my spiritual path took a detour.
I do know however that spirituality is a key factor for many things in life.
From a happy family, a strong foundation, peace, and even financial stability.
I do plan to start meditating more and seeking out other spiritual outlets.
I am excited to see where this path leads.
Currently Praying For: Balance
However, I do realize that I have a lot of things listed to live up to.
If I manage to do even half of these things I think I can be happy.
What I know is that making baby steps is where to begin.
Giant leaps never seem to pan out so well.
It takes daily focus, and actions.
Even the little ones can make a major difference in our lives.
Big changes come through the little steps along the way.Click To Tweet
