Happiness Is… Flea Market Finds

Last weekend my daughter and I went to a flea market.

This is a huge event that is held once a year in a small neighboring town.

Happiness Is ... Flea Market Finds

We visited the flea market on Ladies Night.

The ladies night is held on Thursday before the market is opened to the general public for the weekend.

While not all the vendors were present yet, the vendors present were very excited to haggle and make deals!

Our low admission price also granted us 2 glasses of wine each, and snacks.

I set out with the intention of finding a wagon wheel.

Let me give you some background on my desire for a wagon wheel.

We live in the country.

If you drive around my area at all you are going to see a wagon wheel at almost every other home.

These wagon wheels are used as decor in one fashion or another.

Now it is not typically me to want to do what my neighbors are doing, as a rule.

However, it is a running joke between my family and I that we are nearly the only house in the area without one!

I said I was determined to obtain my own wagon wheel at some point.

We even joked about where the heck people find these things!

Alas, my search is over!

You can easily find wagon wheels at a Flea Market!

Yes, indeed I got my wagon wheel!

Not from the vendor in the photo above, however.

This seller wanted $50.00 for their large wheel.

I walked around and saw wagon wheels at a lot of different shops.

I found the lowest price for a large wheel then put my bartering skills to the test.

The wheel I ended up buying was priced at $30.00.

I offered $20.00 and the offer was accepted with no hassle providing I moved it and loaded it myself.

My daughter and I managed to get the heavy wheel to our van.

Finally, I have my own wagon wheel! Yay!

I am not quite sure what I want to do with it yet, but it will be something unique for sure.

You will most likely see a DIY post about what it ends up being in the future.

Other Cool Things At The Flea Market:

The Grantville Flea Market had so many things to offer.

Flea Market Grantville Kansas

From clothing to home decor and antiques.

Many items that were gorgeous and ready to place into your home.

However, I was not on the hunt for things other people had created.

I wanted to find those unique items that I could incorporate into my own artistic and DIY plans.

The vintage auto items are going into a plan for wall art.

This will definitely be in an upcoming DIY article!

Flea Market Vintage Car Items

I love this antique cog wheel!

It is going to be put on the outside of our home.

To me, it looks like a blazing sun.

I also had to grab this old lasso and barbed wire.

The plans for this are not specific but I will find a unique and interesting way to use it for decor.

I also picked up some other barbed wire and it is being incorporated into our DIY light fixture.

This will also be in a DIY article on the blog – coming soon!

I am super excited about this project and can’t wait to share it with you.

I am so sorry. Maybe it depends on the area you live in. We are in a rural area as was this flea market so they have some interesting things.

I loved all of the flea markets in Illinois! Iowa not so much, I wish we could get a few good ones here!

I wonder why they are not good in Iowa. I guess it all comes down to the collective style of the whole, and what they all want to let go of.
