Today I am excited to tell you all about my experience with Bespoke Post! Bespoke Post is a wonderful subscription service in which you can in fact subscribe to receive boxes, or you can buy one at a time, on your own schedule.

If you join the club for the monthly boxes you pay 45.00 per month and if you elect to buy boxes one at a time they are 55.00 per box.

Bespoke Post Review Box of Awesome Fashion Beyond Forty
Bespoke Box Of Awesome

These boxes, unlike so many I review are aimed toward men, although I have noticed that recently Bespoke Post has added some ladies items to their shop. Oh and yes they also have a shop!

This is a really exciting service because their items are pretty fancy, learn toward upscale, and well curated, yet not too terribly expensive, especially for what you get!

The reason for this review is because with holidays coming up we need to focus on others in our lives right now and I feel Bespoke Box is a wonderful way to gift the men we love, and of course they also have the ladies shop so you can always add extras in your purchase for the women on your gift list!

I was allowed to select one of four boxes to review, and I opted for the Slate Box because I felt it was something that really spoke to holiday gatherings and something everyone could enjoy. Sometimes when I review men’s boxes I can get my hubby to try things on for photos, or try out samples so he can help me review them, but since he recently had a surgery I didn’t feel I should put him up to all of that. The Slate Box was perfect for us to share and relax with, which we did and we throughly enjoyed it!

Lets look at some photos of this very beautiful box:

Opening the Box Of Awesome!

First, I want to say that the Bespoke Box came perfectly packaged for safety. It also weighed a ton! I can’t imagine the company making much profit off of this box after shipping, but I am glad the box is priced so reasonably since I want to get more of them now! I honestly feel this would make a wonderful gift not only to a man on your gift list, but to a family as a family gift! Sure the box leans a bit toward manly when you consider a salami and bourbon flavored toothpicks, but I have enjoyed them as much as my husband has!

Here is what comes in the box …

Lay out the ultimate spread.

These small-batch delicacies are sure to impress when you’re hosting friends… if you can manage to avoid eating it all yourself. Serve them all on the rugged-meets-refined slate board and your holiday party will be off to a very successful start.

Natural Slate Serving Board, 10″x14″, Brooklyn Slate

These hand-cut, rough-edged slate slabs are sourced from a family-run quarry in upstate New York. Each one has its own slight surface imperfections, adding to the tough vibe and making every board unique. Top it with your favorite cheese and charcuterie for a distinctive, rustic display. You can even clue your guests into what’s what with the included soapstone chalk.

Signature Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 5 oz, Old Town Oil

This is the good stuff. Classic olive flavors form a mild yet complex base with refined flavor reminiscent of almonds, tomatoes, and fresh herbs. Simply put, it’s miles above your normal supermarket fare. Pick up a fresh baguette, tear off a piece, and get to dipping.

Barrel-Aged 18-yr Style Balsamic Vinegar, 5 oz, Old Town Oil

This barrel-aged reserve has got the texture of honey, the complexity of a top shelf single malt, and an unreal sweetness and tang. Toss some on salads, meat, or even fruit.
Next up – choose whether you want to dress up your box with salami or spicy green beans
Sopressata Salami, 5.5 oz Creminelli
All of Creminelli’s award-winning artisan charcuterie is delicious, but this sopressata — hand-tied and slowly cured in a natural casing — is our very favorite. Garlic and red wine notes give it a robust flavor that’s dangerously good.
Spicy Pickled Green Beans, 16 oz,Pernicious Pickling Co.
An addictive addition for the vegetarian crowd. They’re pickled with garlic, habanero, thai chile, and spices to give ’em a tongue-punching flavor. Eat them plain, mix them into a salad, or garnish a bloody mary, and then use the brine in a vinaigrette once you’re done.

Bourbon Brittle, Buffalo Trace

A smoky and sweet take on peanut brittle made with booze from Buffalo Trace, the oldest continuously operating bourbon distillery in the states. That’s because they kept on distilling though prohibition in order to make whiskey for “medicinal purposes”.

Garlic Dill Mustard, Mustard and Co.

A minimally processed mustard that’s made the old school way. The time honored technique keeps the mustard seed intact to preserve the sharp flavor, then uses quality local ingredients like organic olive oil, fresh dill, and lots of garlic. It makes for a rounded flavor that’ll punch up any spread.

#22 Bourbon Toothpicks, Daneson

You weren’t going to eat everything with your fingers, were you? These sleek toothpicks are made from A-grade American white birch and then soaked in six year Kentucky bourbon, so that your cheese and charcuterie gets a boozy nuance.
All you’ve got to supply is the appetite.
Wow Right!? I mean seriously this box is packed with awesome! I know that was a lot to take in right, but each item is photoed above for your inspection. Oh and the slate comes with cool unique “chalk” made from soapstone for you to write on your board. Here are more photos:

More Awesome from Bespoke Post!
Notice my dog, Glover, begging! Yes, he got some.
I wrote Bon Appetite on my board, I know lol, corny, but I was not too creative I suppose.
Now I have to say, first, I am in total love with the vinegar and oil, I mean so deeply in love. I am embarrassed but there was some left in the bottom of our ramekin, I drank the stuff, okay, don’t judge me.
The Bourbon Brittle, it was a little tough to get started on as it is so super thick and of course brittle is hard to bite into for some people like myself, but once I got into it, oh wow, glory! So absolutely delicious!
Now, I have never had to peel the casing off of a salami before, so this was an adventure, but I followed the directions which were included and it was simple. Pretty proud of myself I must say. Who says this is a box for a man? Huh? Oh and I could not have hubby do it since he is in a sling anyway. Okay moving on … that last photo – lower right side – those are cork feet for the slate, which I missed until I already had our spread out, so I put them on later, and the soapstone chalk was also in there but when I opened it I got so excited about the chalk I didn’t even notice the cork feet!

Final Photos of Bespoke Post Awesomeness
So here you can see more details of the cork feet, as well as the cool test tube of bourbon soaked toothpicks. Again, guy box or not, I love these! In fact I have chewed on one since I started this post, and ate more of the brittle (the last of it) as well while writing this post. If I didn’t feel like it was wrong, I would probably go in the kitchen, get out the vinegar and oil, blend it up and swig it back like a sailor! All you really need to add to this spread to make it complete is some wine, and some crackers, which I had on hand, yay! The mustard was very good as well, and I really did love it but I think I was so taken in by the vinegar and oil that I did not get as much out of the mustard, and that is saying a lot as I love special mustards, I have three others in my refrigerator I love them so much, but that vinegar and oil, it is love.
Between my husband, and myself, and three dogs who each got one full slice divvied up over the course of the time we had all of this out), we nearly finished the whole salami! Yes the whole salami, and while I am sure that is not perfectly healthy, the true glutton in us came out and we enjoyed every minute of it! Actually about two hours of insanely happy gluttony!
Yes, I do feel this would make a wonderful gift for the man in your life, your bother, your cousin, your uncle, father, etc, or for your favorite blogger (hint hint). Seriously though, don’t count out the women on your list either! Or just get one for yourself – this is sure to come in handy over the holiday season!
