Happiness Is … Memories Rediscovered

Digging through boxes of stuff I packed up during my move I came across an old jewelry box that belonged to my great great grandmother. My GGGma was amazing! We used to spend so much time together when I was just a little girl. She passed while I was still very young but she taught me so much in those early years. One of my favorite memories of her was what she called “flaking out” which was basically taking a nap on the sofa. I think she was just trying to get me to settle down – I probably wore her out!

The jewelry box is old, and pretty rough looking, but I still love it. I am going to dust it off and start using it again now that it has been re-discovered as it has been boxed up for years. I know it isn’t much to look at but the memories it holds are more precious than the things I will keep within it.

I still remember the strands of beads, and the screw back earrings my grandmother kept within it and what is even better is I still have a few of those items as well. They will be reunited with their former home soon.
So today, happiness is … memories rediscovered.
