Today is April 1st and it’s no joke, today is Lyla’s 8th birthday!
I did consider writing an article today announcing that I was quitting the blogging business but I just couldn’t. For one thing, I do not like sensationalism. Another reason is why would I want to overshadow my lovely Lyla’s special day with such silliness. Granted it is April 1st, a day known for silliness, but today is also a sad day for me.
April 1st is the day I lost my first child at 6 months of pregnancy. That was decades ago and I have healed but I just was never one for pulling April 1st pranks. I have attempted a few here and there, but I am not great at planning them, let alone executing a good one!
With all that said, when she came into my life, having an April 1st birthday, she brought back the joy of April 1st for me.
If you are not familiar with my little sweetie yet please check out her Pet Profile and learn more about her.
Lyla is my sidekick. She is with me all day while I work. This bundle of cuddles also keeps me on my toes! It is amazing how pets can help keep you aware of the time! She never lets me forget my schedule because she knows when it is time for her medicine, time to go outside, and what time her GrandpaDaddy is due home.
Lyla is actually my Granddog, but when my daughter moved out, she was used to her home here with us. So she stayed with us. That is why I am known to her as GrandmaMommy, and my husband is GranpaDaddy.
I know that many of you have commented on Lyla’s work before and she appreciates all the love she gets on the blog.
Last year she enjoyed a spa day treatment. This year Lyla and I will be taking it easy at home making puppy pops!
When I was having my new logo and header for the blog created I wanted to include all of my furkids but that would have been a bit busy since there are four of them. It was decided that only one pet would be included. We all know who that ended up being!
Since it is April Fools Day I will leave you with a few jokes. It is the best I can do since I am not good with tricks.
What did the dog who sat on sandpaper say?
What do you call a cold dog?
Why did the dog cross the road?
To get to the barking lot!
Alright now that you are all done BOLing (barking out loud for those of you who do not speak pup), I will simply close this with saying once again Happy Birthday Lyla!
You are so loved! Your GrandmaMommy.
Please leave a comment for her. She truly does appreciate the flattery!
