I an so excited to be sharing my photo shoot of my gorgeous Maple Chevron clothing. If you have not seen it yet, please check out my unboxing video below. You will see just how happy I was to receive and open my box. Also if you are not yet familiar with the Maple Chevron service, please read my previous article that introduces Maple Chevron.
Here is a first peek at my look:
I also want to show you something that Laura of Maple Chevron emailed to me after I received my box. I think this is so cool!
She has my look right there on a model, even the jewelry extras she tucked in the box as a surprise! With other clothing subscriptions I have received style cards, with some styling ideas, but never before have I received anything with my selections on a model like this. Now keep in mind, you may not receive a style card exactly like mine. Laura was able to create a card like this for me since all of my pieces ended up creating one look. You will receive something cool from her though, you can bet on that!
I am so happy with my selections, and Laura’s choice of the cool color splash Baltik top by Hem & Thread. Laura really pulled this look together by choosing that for me to go with the two items I picked out. Then she complimented the entire look by styling with the perfect accessories.
I love versatile clothing and appreciate that you can wear this top both tucked, and untucked. Both ways of wearing it give it a unique look. It is light weight and feels comfortable under jackets, shrugs, and cardigans.
I was equally pleased with my selected items. The Kut From the Kloth corduroy jeans are super comfortable, oh so plush feeling, and I love the charcoal color. If you follow my fashion articles I am sure you have heard me rave about Kut from the Kloth jeans many times.
The Piece De Resistance jacket by Sugar Lips is amazing. I knew I would love it, which is why I selected it, but it looks even more beautiful in person.
Let’s get into it with the photos …
This street savvy, urban styling is totally hip. I love dressing with the fads, keeping a mind on staying “age appropriate”, not one of my favorite terms since I believe we can wear whatever makes us feel great, but I do tend to consider not looking as if I am trying too hard to dress young.
I kept my bag simple – always editing to be sure I am not over doing it.
Of course, it is boot season, so I selected a pair of olive green boots to compliment the look. You can find similar boots on Amazon and personally I like the boots I linked better than what I have on, but they are similar.
I can not get over the drape of this gorgeous Sugar Lips Piece De Resistance jacket! Every movement, the jacket flows, billows, and flairs.
The softness of the jacket is amazing. I was not sure what the material was, it felt a bit like silk, so I asked Laura and she said it is Viscose, which is a plant based material. Yay for cruelty free fashion! As for cleaning, you do treat it like silk.
As mentioned in the video, it does wrinkle easily, but also steams easily so the wrinkles are not an issue if you have a steamer, and if you keep your jacket hung when not in use it will still look great when you want to wear it. I kind of think a little wrinkling adds to the edgy street look anyway.
More gratuitous drape photos but check out the beautiful colors in the Hem & Thread top pictured above. Honestly I never would have thought that a pink tone would work with olive green but it sure does!
Depending on your monitor color settings you may not see the top in the same way it looks in person but there is a pink hue in it, along with some subtle blues, but it is mostly grey with black splashes and floral patterns. It is truly unique! Keep reading and you will see more images of the shirt without the jacket further down.
The jacket is also detailed with zip pockets on each side. The zippers are sturdy and durable and large enough to hold a cell phone, keys, money, and your lip color.
Let’s give Kut from the Kloth a little love here too because their jeans fit perfectly, even for us curvier women! I know one of Laura’s goals in her Maple Chevron subscription service is to be able to provide beautiful fashion to all shapes and sizes of women.
I am super short, just at 5 foot 3 inches, so I am used to clothing fitting me a little long, such as the sleeves on the jacket, and the jeans, but Laura is currently working on finding more petite selections for us shorties. Thank you Laura!
So don’t let the fact that these items may be a little long on me deter you. That is why I wanted to give you some perspective on my height, or lack thereof.
The Diana Corduroy Skinny Jeans are not your mother’s corduroy. The cords are set very closely, giving a fine feel to them, almost a velvety sensation.
Kansas weather is crazy! One minute it can be sunny the next cloudy with a cool breeze, next thing you know it is raining and cold. This photo shoot lasted only about two hours and the weather changed three times during it! I found myself quite comfortable in this outfit the entire time.
The back of the Piece De Resistance jacket is tiered giving it more complexity and style. Simply defined, Piece De Resistance means special item or attraction. I would have to agree, this jacket steals the show!
Most of your questions about Maple Chevron, and how it works can be found in my previous article but I do want to cover a few of the basics for you here.
Shipping is free when you spend $149 and over, otherwise shipping is a flat $10 in the USA.
Shipping is currently available to Australia, and Canada should be available this week. All prices are still USD and shipping to countries other than USA will have a subsidized shipping fee.
You will receive a 20 dollar credit for each friend that signs up and subscribes through the Maple Chevron referral program.
There is absolutely no sign up or styling fee.
Canceling your subscription is actually easy, you can do it online through your account, and do not need to contact customer service to do so.
Get a $5 credit to your account for each item you review until January 2018 by uploading a photo and completing the review process.
As you can see, these credits can add up fast! Love it!
Now you may be wondering if shipping is free with either the 3 Stack or 5 Stack when would I need to pay shipping. Well the cool thing is if you find something you love on the Maple Chevron site, you can just go ahead and buy it! That’s right you do not even need to be a subscriber to shop Maple Chevron as it works both as a subscription service and an online store.
I also want to run down how the clothing points system works because this is not something other subscription boxes offer.
Clothing points are allotted by the stack you select. A 5 Stack grants 5 points, a 3 Stack grants you 3 points.
Each clothing item on the Maple Chevron site has a point value.
This jacket for example was a 2 point item. My jeans are a 1 point item. Normally this would complete a 3 Stack 3 point purchase. As Maple Chevron’s first Ambassador I did get a little perk of being complimented an extra point as normally my order would have ended with the jeans, and jacket, with no surprise item, but Laura granted me the extra point, and basically my surprise item top was a freebie.
I just want to be clear on that so that the points system makes sense.
Items can and do sell out so if you are as in love with the jacket as I am I would suggest that you set up your account today, because I think it is going to be a hot seller!
Not sure what you want but know you want it? Have Laura curate your entire box for the month! From your style profile, which is very detailed I will say, Laura can curate a shipment full of surprise items of things you will love.
Only For Subscribers:
Shop All Month Long by adding your favorites to your cart or “loving” items.
Vote for and Pre-Order New Items. (coming soon)
I love being able to go back to Maple Chevron, see what’s new, and “love” items. I enjoy the process of shopping throughout the month placing a few items in my cart, shuffling them around, removing items I decided I did not want, and so on. The entire process fills that “need” to shop, while allowing me plenty of time to make my final decision.
I tend to shop like this already anyway. I will create an account on an online shop, stuff it full of things I desire, then narrow it down to what I really want. What really bugs me are those irritating shopping carts that do not remember your items! On Maple Chevron your items are safely tucked away in your cart, or wishlist until you order, or until they sell out.
Above is a close up of the gorgeous glass bead and Druzy stone bracelet Laura included as a surprise item. Watch my video to learn how to get extra goodies in your shipment!
In my video I spaced out the name of this stone but later recalled it is Druzy.
Above is the necklace she sent me as another surprise item, in the video you will see the chain up close, it is stunning and so unique.
I actually own four other Druzy stone necklaces and absolutely love them because of their natural beauty. I can never have two many as no two are ever the same since they grow naturally.
These two extras I received totally complimentary and they really completed the styling of this outfit.
See them even closer on Polyvore.
I could not be happier with my look. I am so pleased to receive a full outfit from a fashion subscription service. I am utterly impressed with, and pleased at the customer service provided by Laura at Maple Chevron. I want to add, this awesome service is not just because I am a blogger, and not just because I am an Ambassador for Maple Chevron. I actually asked Laura if everyone can anticipate such up close and personal service and the answer was YES!
As Maple Chevron grows, Laura may not personally be able to attend to everyone’s needs, so as she expands, so will her customer service base, but rest assured, they will be well invested in the company, and offer the same friendly, and caring service that Laura does.
As promised earlier in the article, here are some photos of the color splash Baltik top by Hem & Thread, without the jacket.
Wear it tucked, or untucked for two different looks. Tucked in it has a cute coat tail effect.
Untucked for a more casual style. The back of the top still hangs lower than the front and I simply love this detail. The cap sleeves are perfect if you have larger upper arms as they offer a slimming effect.
I think you can tell that I could go on and on about Maple Chevron and that I am a huge fan. I have been speaking with Laura for geesh, over a year I think, as she has been birthing this fantastic fashion subscription box service and I am so happy to see it come to fruition for her.
I am honored to be her first Ambassador, and I am so excited for you all to go sign up so you can experience the best clothing subscription box service for yourselves.
I want you to all have the chance to experience the customer care, flexibility, options, and fun that Maple Chevron has to offer.
I also really want you to try it out so we can all dish about the new items being added, what you are selecting, and to share with you about my selections. I need girlfriends to online shop with! Plus once voting comes out, that will be a ton of fun to compare what we are all hoping to show up on the site!
