As a mother to young adults, this is ever more worrisome. My daughter drives thirty minutes to work, then thirty minutes back again. Since she leaves so early in the morning a lot of the time the roads have not been sanded yet. Already this year she has spun out on the highway and went off the road. Don't worry she was fine, a little shaken to say the least, but unharmed.
She needs a better car, but she also needs to keep her job to build up work history to get one in her name. She is concerned, as she should be, about building her own credit. I just wish that her work were closer to our home. Since she is training in a specialized field, that just is not going to be easy for her to find.
All of this makes me not only want the good weather to return, but makes me wish that I could take my kids, even if they are now young adults, and start back over. Yes I am tired. I know I could never take on what mothers of young children have to at my age, but a part of me wishes I could cradle them in my arms still, protected, safe, and warm. These are the types of things that make me say to myself "Let's Go Back".
I do love the seasons, all four of them, and I would hate to live somewhere that does not have them all, but there are times, such as when my daughter had her recent accident that I detest the season. Snow can be lovely, but ice is dangerous and horrible!
You may have noticed I wrote an article last week: How To Make a Winter Safe Driving Kit, this was actually something I had begged my daughter to do before her accident. I implore all of you to take a moment to read it and make your own safe driving kit for Winter.
I think we all have moments in our lives where we say to ourselves, or someone we love "Let's Go Back". It may be something fun you experienced and would love to do again. It may be due to something more like what I have been feeling lately, and missing keeping your loved ones safe and secure.
I would love to hear what prompts your "Let's Go Back" moments! I love hearing from my readers and would really appreciate it if you could share your Let's Go Back thoughts in the comments below.
Stay safe out there if you are in a location with bad weather!
