Here is how to make a GOOD Mojito:
First, don’t listen to those people who tell you to use straight sugar, or sugar mixed with water. You want Simple Syrup! Simple Syrup is so easy to make. All it is – is equal parts sugar and water, brought to a simmer, and cooked down for about 5 to 10 minutes. Then let it sit, or chill in the fridge so it thickens. It makes your mojito taste so much better!
10 or more mint leaves, to me the more the better.
1 to 2 ounce of light rum (to taste, did I say the more the better?)
4 Tablespoons Simple Syrup
1 Cup Sparking Water, such as Perrier Water or Pellegrino
1 Whole lime cut into four wedges
Clean and put your mint leaves into your tall glass. Muddle with the Native Spring Muddler.
Squeeze 3 of your four lime wedges into the glass, put squeezed wedges into glass.
Add 4 Tablespoons Simple Syrup
Add Light Rum
Add Sparkling Water
Garnish with last lime wedge.
You can also add other fruit if you wish such as blueberries, strawberries, etc.
Drink and enjoy!
