Thank you to Poise for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me to try recycling my unused period pads!
Ladies, many of us suffer from occasional leakage. For some of us that leakage is more frequently that others but regardless of how often it happens, it is never something we are too excited about. This leakage is known as LBL. Below Poise has shared with us some information about LBL:
WHAT IS LBL?
• One in three women experience Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) – little leaks that can be triggered by everyday occurrences like coughing, sneezing, laughing and exercise.
WHAT CAUSES LBL?
Just as no two women are alike, there's no single reason that LBL happens. Some of the most common things that lead to uninvited leaks include:
• Physical changes from childbirth, pregnancy, hysterectomy or menopause
• Being overweight
• Complications from surgery, stroke, or chronic diseases like diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson's disease
• Bladder or urinary tract infections
• Bladder irritants (certain foods and beverages)
HOW CAN I BEST MANAGE MY LBL?
Women deserve the best options for managing LBL. Whether you leak a little when you laugh, or sometimes have a sudden urge to go, Poise gives you one less thing to worry about any time of day or night. Our pads and liners are specifically designed for LBL, which makes them an easy choice for the 1 in 3 women with light bladder leaks.

Now I will admit to having used period pads in the past for LBL and truth be told, they are just not made for Light Bladder Leakage AT ALL. Sure they may come in handy if you get caught without any other options but to be blunt, toilet paper has sufficed in an emergency just as well as period pads. What you REALLY need for LBL is Poise! Poise is designed for LBL and I am no scientist but they absorb those little accidents the way they should and you won't be caught worried if you will make it back to the safety of your home before someone notices!
Poise has inspired me to join in their #RecycleYourPeriodPad campaign. I am not too crafty but I do love giving crafts a try! I decided to try making something fashionable since that is what my blog is primarily about. I do keep some period pads around for my daughter, and to be quite honest, I am premenopausal and still spot now and then, but who am I to miss out on all of the fun!? I recycled my period pads into a fun, faux leather, braided bracelet and you can too!
Hey my recycled from period pads bracelet may not be showing up in the malls anytime soon, but I think it is rather cool, don't you? Sure does better on my arm than it does helping me with LBL!
How would you recycle your period pads?
