Today I want to tell you about a flat iron I recently had the chance to try out. It is from Gurin and is a Professional Flat Iron. It is ceramic which we all know is best for our hair, and it is perfect for straightening or flipping the hair out, which is what I use it for. Actually I find my hair seems fuller and has more body when I use the Gurin flat iron.
Gurin Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener, 1.25 inch with Carrying Case
I have very baby fine, flat, straight hair, with absolutely no body to it. Below in the photos you will see some before and after photos and you can tell that the iron gives my hair that lift I desperately need.
Before I go on here are some specs from Guirn:
Gurin Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener, 1.25 inch with Carrying Case In Stock.
1. Straighten, flip and curl your hair.
2. Adjustable temperature from 240F to 450F (120C - 220C) to suit all hair types.
3. Ceramic/tourmaline plates create a shinier, silkier finish in lesser time.
4. 1.25 inch plate width, wide enough for any hair length and hair types, yet narrow enough for bangs.
5. Transform frizzy, dull hair into gorgeous straight, sleek locks.
The first collage of photos are of the product as I received it. I love the pretty carrying case, which is padded inside for extra protection of your iron. There is a temperature selection element of course as well. I liked the way the iron felt in my hand, the grip inlay on the iron made me feel confident I would not drop it or it would not slip from my hand. The weight was good in my opinion my daughter said she thought it felt heavier than hers and that may be true but for me I liked that it had a little weight to it as it made me feel more confident I would not fling it across the bathroom in my daily rush to get ready! I also really like that it is pretty narrow (the ceramic blades) because I have short hair, and I don't need a thick blade area. This gave me the feeling of more control and that I would not damage my hair.
These photos are the before and after. All before photos are on top and after are on bottom. You can see how fine my hair is, and the only product I used was some heat protectant. I had brushed my hair in the above (before) photos, but you can still see how ratty my hair looked, especially at the ends! In the after photos you see how much sleeker my hair looks, and it also has more body!
I will admit, I am not one for spending a great deal of time on my hair, so in fairness of the review I felt I should use it the same way I would if I were not reviewing a product. So I spent the same amount of time I normally would on my hair, which was about 10 minutes from the time I turned the iron on to finish. Not long and not amazing results for my hair itself but amazing results for me considering I don't do much with my hair. The iron was good! Also it heated up super fast, the green light in the photo on the left shows it is ready to use. Before it was red.
In the package you will also get an owners manual which has great styling hints, not just info about the iron itself. I thought that was a nice added touch by Gurin!
In comparison to my other flat iron I like this one a bit more. I like the way it feels in my hand a lot. When I do use a hair product in the past I have found my other iron to get slick, but with the grips on the Gurin handle I don't feel I will have that issue. It heated up a lot faster, which was really surprising because it was ready before I was ready to use it, and I like that the blades are narrow, and overall the iron is short which is good for my smaller hands.
If you are in the market for a new flat iron I would give Gurin a try. Once again here is the link to the product on Amazon.
