Happiness Is ... Houseplants

I have always wanted to have a green thumb, but the fact is, I do not. Well that is not entirely true. I can grow a lovely garden, and sometimes I am alright with flowers, and herbs love me. However, when it comes to your every day house plant, my thumb is pretty brown! Lately my daughter has been getting into houseplants and brining home some lovely looking plants. I am hopeful she is better at growing and caring for houseplants than I am!

Here are some of the lovelies she has brought home:

Upper Left: Pot on Left - Coleus and Pot on Right a mix of Angelonia and Mandevilla
Lower Left: Palm
Lower Right: Swedish Ivy

My favorite is the Swedish Ivy not just because I am part Swede, but because it is so pretty and has the floral sprays.

The upper two are currently being revived a little with plastic baggies over them and sitting in as much sunlight as we can get them without putting them outside in the cold.

I hope they grow to be big and strong, as I would love to see our home filled with green life!

So for today, for me, Happiness Is ... Houseplants.
