Today may be the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness month but we should not stop thinking about getting a mammogram, nor do we stop thinking about those we love who have or are suffering from breast cancer.
This past month I had my mammogram and I am happy to say my exam came back negative for signs of cancer.
I am relieved because breast cancer is prevalent in my family.
I was also intrigued to find out that instead of yearly exams my doctor only recommends one exam every three years, unless I feel something unusual. Of course you want to follow your own doctors guidelines and be sure you are self screening at home.
For more information on Breast Cancer please visit National Breast Cancer site. What a lovely thing to do for yourself, or someone you love.
Also I found this website which has some wonderful things you can do for yourself, or those you love who are suffering from breast cancer. I especially love that you can plant a flower in the virtual flower garden on the My Story site.
So today, for me, Happiness is … Being Breast Cancer Free and I hope for the same for all of you! Feel free to comment about your experiences with mammograms, and share in supporting those who suffer from, or are survivors of breast cancer.
I love comments! Please join in discussion, ask questions, or leave tips for other readers. Comments truly are the driving force behind any blog as it helps the blogger to know what you, the reader want to see more of!
