Tea and Beauty

Makeup companies, skin care lines, even fragrances are getting on the tea bandwagon! Those of us who have loved tea, and known the beauty and health benefits of it for a long time are all smirking.

Ironically, or perhaps interestingly, I was a tea blogger for quite awhile.

Just so you have a baseline - this is part of my tea stash:

You don't even want to know how much is in each box!
There is a major difference between quality tea and tea you buy at the grocery store. Let me just say, if you have a makeup line, or skin care line you swear by, if you know the difference between drug store cosmetics and luxury lines, then apply that to tea, it is the same thing. It is like buying your clothing at Walmart when you buy bagged or grocery store tea to a tea lover. Not to say I have never (double negative?) picked up an item or two at Walmart, but as a rule, just no. Now I am not going to go into all the ins and outs of tea here because this is not a tea blog, but trust me I could. Unless you really also love tea, or want to learn more, you probably don't need to know much except not all teas are created equal.

Sencha Green Tea

Which leads me to wonder, just what tea are they really using in these makeup products? Aside from that, there are amazing health benefits to tea! Especially green tea, although other teas do have their benefits as well. The thing is, you don't need it in your make up or skin care line to get these benefits! All you really have to do is drink the stuff! Okay so you say you do not like tea, fine, fair argument, but  keep in mind there are all sorts of tea blends that actually make it quite yummy! There are even matcha flavors that you can make smoothies out of! Matcha in short is a powdered green tea.

If you are truly interested in what green tea can do for you, your skin, and your health, leave a comment below, I would be happy to answer all of your questions and guide you to a handful of quality tea suppliers for this purpose!

I love comments! Please join in discussion, ask questions, or leave tips for other readers. Comments truly are the driving force behind any blog as it helps the blogger to know what you, the reader want to see more of!
