From Beauty Box Five’s website:

We understand your beauty needs and your busy lifestyle. And we’re here to help. Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based, beauty sampling service that delivers 5 deluxe samples and full-sized products right to your door every month. It’s a cosmetic jungle out there and we want to lend a helping hand by introducing you to new brands and great products, while sharing tips on the best ways to use them. Every month we’ll send you a mix of makeup, beauty accessories, hair, skincare, fragrance, body, and nail products and we can’t get enough of. Our secret? We share products that really work, so you’ll receive luxury, drugstore, niche, eco-conscious, and even vegan brands. Whether you’re a cosmetic newbie or a beauty guru, identify yourself as adventurous and playful or classy and mature, like to splurge on high-end items or be a savvy spender, we have everything you’re looking for.

Beauty Box Five offers free shipping and some full sized products.

So onto the review:

When you open the box you will first see a card that lists the items in the box on the backside. The front of the card tells about the theme for the box. This is something most subscription boxes have inside of them.

Next we have the back of the card that lists the products in the box, along with the back side of the little card saying “Win Five On Us”, in the enlarged photo you can read about how to win 5 on Beauty Box Five.

And now the products:

The full size product this month is Clinical Strength Secret Deodorant. It may not be glamourous but I am happy to have it. My daughter uses this and its not exactly cheap. Value 7.99
Then we have Just Being Sexy Body Bronzer. I was sent three foil pouches 8ML each. I am not going to do the math on what the value of each pouch is but it would take all three pouches to cover my body (if not more). Full size is 49.00 for 6 ounces. This will be given to my daughter to try most likely.
Next is Nubar Lacquer Nail Polish. I got a lovely nude tone sparkly polish. My daughter already gave it a try as a top coat over other light pink polish. She said it had a nice consistency to it. I will give it a try myself and see how the staying power is. Our sample is .25 ounces Full size is .5 ounce at 8.00
To compliment the polish I also got Swissco Glitter Toe Separators. Retail 2.00 Nice addition to my nail styling kit.
I am looking forward to trying the next sample later tonight. It is H20 Plus Spa Sea Lotus Body Wash. Full size 12.5 ounces at 18.00 – the sample is enough for several showers, 30ML.
This box costs 12.00 per month or 30.00 quarterly which saves you 6.00 if you go for the quarterly subscription. Or you can go for a yearly subscription and save 45.00. A yearly subscription costs 90.00
So in my opinion for the 12.00 price tag this box was okay. I am not stunned or amazed but I feel I got a decent value. The deodorant will be used, as will everything else but the deodorant made the price tag worth while. On the other hand, its deodorant, not something new and exciting that I got to experience or discover. Yet back on the first hand, it is useful and less risky than some new exciting product that I may have ended up hating. Either way the price I paid is worth it for what I got and I will continue my subscription into another month.
Unlike Birchbox however, there is no points system for rating products. That is not necessarily a bad thing but it does mean to me that they need to stay on top of sending out good products and I will give them far less wiggle room than I allow Birchbox for less than exciting items. Reason being that at least with Birchbox, if I do not love the items sent to me, I can still review them and easily add up enough points to get something I do love with those points. It makes the 10.00 per month price tag worth it. Beauty Box Five is 2.00 more a month with no point system so I expect better items.
